Haemodialysis Unit
The St. Joseph's Hospital received a donation of two state-of-the-art dialysis machines from Olint Corporation and its founder David Smith in mid 2006. The handover ceremony took place on the grounds of the hospital.

Chief executive officer of Olint, Wayne Smith, brother of the founder, said that St. Joseph's Hospital was providing a tremendous service to the people of Jamaica and was happy that Olint was in a position to support their efforts.

He lauded the team on their charitable efforts and said the initiative was the brainchild of his brother, who was unavoidably absent.

Mr. Smith handed over the machines, valued at several million dollars, to Nurse Julian Riley, head of the dialysis unit, and St. Joseph's Executive Director, Fabian Brown.

Mr. Brown thanked Olint for their generosity and said the machines -two KK200 series dialysis machines by Gambro Products - would enhance the services being provided by the hospital and help keep down the cost of dialysis, which was very expensive.

Ever since the hand over, St Josephs Hospital and Wellness Center has been providing world-class dialysis service to its many satified clients with the care and attention to detail that this Catholic-based institution has become known for.

St. Joseph’s Hospital is a Roman Catholic institution, with a dynamic team of highly skilled, motivated and dedicated professionals and volunteers committed to excellence by providing holistic health care in a safe environment characterized by understanding and sensitivity. The Hospital cares for the physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs of their valued clients using state-of-the art technology in partnership with the wider community.
